After officially assuming his role as the new President of the University of Lomé, Professor Kpodar wasted no time in leaving his mark on the university’s management.

Appointed by a presidential decree signed by the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé, Professor Adama Kpodar recently took the reins of the institution, succeeding Professor Komla Dodzi Kokoroko. Shortly after taking office, the new President of UL made significant decisions for the future of this academic institution.

Professor Kpodar initiated a restructuring within his cabinet at the University of Lomé. Indeed, his predecessor, Kokoroko, reformed the university’s police force division, which was previously integrated into the general secretariat. This branch will now be directly attached to the President’s office of the university. This change aims to strengthen security and management on campus, emphasizing the priority given to the safety of the university community.

Another significant change concerns the travel division, which used to fall under the general secretariat. This division has now been placed under the jurisdiction of the President’s office of the University of Lomé. This reorganization could have a considerable impact on the management of travel and official missions within the institution. In addition to these modifications, two strategic positions have been created to enable the President to carry out his mission. These are the positions of the President’s security advisor on campus and the advisor on legal and administrative affairs.

It is worth noting that Professor Adama Kpodar, holder of a degree in public law and former Director of the National School of Administration (ENA), is a renowned professional in the academic field. His experience and commitment to education have been demonstrated through his previous roles, notably as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lomé from 2006 to 2011.
