For the past few days, the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Togo has a new leader.

The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) has appointed a new head for Togo. The new director was introduced to industry stakeholders during the last National Credit Council (NCC) on Thursday, December 14, 2023, as reported by the Ministry of Finance.

On behalf of the statutory President, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Akuwa Dogbe Azoma, the new National Director of BCEAO for Togo,” said PRE Simfeitchéou (Representative of the statutory President of the NCC, Sani Yaya) during the financial proceedings in Togo.

It should be noted that Mrs. Akuwa Dogbe Azoma is the first woman to hold this position in the history of the National Directorate of BCEAO for Togo. Prior to this appointment, she held several positions of responsibility at the Headquarters of the Issuing Body in Dakar.

Furthermore, her predecessor has been appointed to the Governor’s Office of BCEAO in Dakar. “We extend our sincere congratulations to Mr. TENOU for the work accomplished at the helm of the National Directorate of BCEAO for Togo and his promotion as Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank. We wish him success in his new role within the Governor’s Office of BCEAO,” added the representative of the statutory President.
