On Sunday, July 30, 2023, the voters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire are scheduled to vote to form a new assembly of elected members, thus renewing the representation of the country’s economic actors within this institution.

According to information provided to BÉNIN WEB TV, “The elections of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry usually take place every 6 years to allow for periodic renewal of elected officials and ensure equitable representation of the various economic sectors of the country.”

Polling stations will be available throughout the territory, in the 10 municipalities for Abidjan, in the prefectures for the interior of the country, and in the sub-prefectures for Anyama and Bingerville, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. According to the note, the challenges of this election are significant, “as Côte d’Ivoire continues to seek ways to stimulate economic growth, encourage investment, and promote a business-friendly environment.”

Furthermore, the results of this election will determine the new committee of elected members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire, which will then choose a new president for a 6-year term by the end of August. “The authorities in charge call on all members of the electoral body to fulfill their duty by actively participating in these elections. They are encouraged to vote in favor of the lists that, in their opinion, will best defend the interests of the private sector and contribute effectively to the country’s economic development,” the document urged.
