England finished first in Group D at the 2023 Women’s World Cup after their crushing victory against China (6-1) on Tuesday. Denmark secured the second spot in the group and qualified for the Round of 16 with a 2-0 win over Haiti.

On the third and final day of the group stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia, England faced China at Hindmarsh Stadium. The Lionesses dominated the match and secured a resounding 6-1 victory. England’s performance was a display of force, with Lauren James scoring a brace and providing three assists.

With three wins in three matches, England confidently advanced to the Round of 16 and will face the Super Falcons of Nigeria. On the other hand, China, finishing third in the group, was eliminated from the competition.

In the other match on Tuesday, Denmark took on Haiti in Perth. The Danes had to win to keep their tournament hopes alive, and they delivered. The Dynamites secured a 2-0 victory, with Pernille Harder scoring from a penalty kick and Sanne Nielsen adding a late goal. Denmark now advances to the next round and will face Australia, who finished first in Group B.
