The Ukrainian Security Service revealed that they thwarted an alleged plot targeting President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Mykolaiv, a region located near the frontline in southern Ukraine. According to the statement issued by the SBU, a woman was apprehended on charges of being an informant for Russian intelligence services. She allegedly collected information about the president’s imminent visit to the region, with the presumed aim of facilitating a “massive air attack.”
The woman in question worked at a store located on a military base and reportedly attempted to gather precise information about the schedule and locations of the planned itinerary for the presidential visit. The SBU also released a blurred photo of the suspect, shown alongside security agents, as well as screenshots of phone messages and handwritten notes related to military activities.
This discovery highlights the constant vigilance of the Ukrainian security services against potential threats to President Zelensky and the country’s stability. Ukrainian authorities remain determined to prevent any acts of violence or aggression directed at their leaders and institutions.
