As of Monday’s meeting, the executive committee of the French Football Federation has appointed Thierry Henry as the head coach of the French U21 national team. This news was reported by RMC Sport and L’Equipe.

Thierry Henry has been named as the head coach of the French U21 national team, as reported by RMC Sport and confirmed by L’Équipe. This new appointment marks a turning point in the career of the former football star, as he embarks on his third experience as a head coach, following contrasting stints with AS Monaco and Montreal.

The decision to appoint Thierry Henry to succeed Sylvain Ripoll at the helm of the French U21 team was unanimously approved during the executive committee (comex) meeting held on Monday. Despite finalist Sabri Lamouchi being among the candidates, it was the former Arsenal and FC Barcelona striker who ultimately won the preference of the decision-makers.

Currently a pundit for Prime Video and CBS Sports, Thierry Henry will have to put his media activities on hold to fully dedicate himself to his new role as head coach. The 1998 World Cup champion, Henry faces the significant task of leading the 2002 generation, which will gather in September for their first series of matches under his direction. In the coming days, the new coach will have to unveil his first list of players.
