Akor Adams is about to take on a new challenge in France. The Nigerian forward has joined Montpellier from Lillestrom SK.
Montpellier officially announced the arrival of Akor Adams on Monday. After spending four seasons in the Norwegian league, the striker leaves Lillestrom SK for the French league. The transfer fee is estimated at 4 million euros, making this acquisition a promising investment for the Hérault club.
Although the duration of his contract is currently unknown, Akor Adams embarks on a new adventure after an impressive season with Lillestrom SK. In the last season, the 23-year-old player impressed by scoring 17 goals in 18 matches across all competitions.
With this new signing, Montpellier hopes to relive moments of glory, similar to those experienced in the past with another iconic Nigerian striker of the club, John Utaka. In 2012, thanks in part to a brace from the former Super Eagles forward, Montpellier was able to celebrate the French championship title, marking a historic chapter in the club’s history.
With the arrival of Akor Adams, the Ligue 1 team hopes to return to success and continue to shine at the highest level of French football. The upcoming season promises to be full of potential and ambitions for the Hérault club.
