In a press conference with Chelsea on Wednesday, former PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino shared his opinion on the Kylian Mbappé situation, as the French club pushes the 24-year-old star towards an exit.
For several weeks, the summer transfer market saga has been focused on the future of French football star Kylian Mbappé. Paris Saint-Germain and the striker, who refuses to extend his contract, are engaged in a real standoff over a possible sale this summer. As speculations abound, rumors suggest a potential move to Chelsea for the Bondy-born player.
When asked about this in the press conference on Wednesday, the Blues’ coach and former PSG manager remained cautious. “I have worked with Kylian Mbappé. But I cannot speak, perhaps everything you (journalists) are talking about is too much noise. It is a very delicate situation, a situation that they must manage: Paris with Kylian and Kylian with Paris Saint-Germain,” he said, as reported by Footmercato.
Mauricio Pochettino emphasized that he does not consider the Frenchman’s arrival at Chelsea, while expressing his wish to see this situation resolved among the parties involved. “But on our side, there is nothing to say; we work in our reality, and our reality is different. And, of course, they have a different reality. From my side, I have nothing to say. I can only support them and hope they will find the best solution for both parties. Because Paris Saint-Germain is a club I love, and I have been a player and coach there,” added the Argentine technician.
