Hakim Ziyech’s chapter at Chelsea has come to an end after his signing with Galatasaray in Turkey. His former teammate at Chelsea, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reacted to Ziyech’s decision to join the Istanbul club by playfully ribbing his former club on Instagram with a “Free Hakim” message.

Amidst a series of near-misses in the transfer market, Hakim Ziyech has finally found an avenue for his footballing career to reignite. The Moroccan international has found solace in a loan agreement with Galatasaray, coupled with a purchase option. It’s a new chapter for the Moroccan player, who was unwanted in London. To add to the excitement, the Atlas Lion might get to play in the UEFA Champions League with his new club as they contend in the Champions League playoffs.

Ziyech’s presentation as a Galatasaray player has stirred excitement among fans on social media and beyond. In a post on his Instagram account, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also reacted to his former Chelsea teammate’s transfer. While wishing the best for Ziyech in his Turkish adventure, the Gabonese player also took a swipe at his former club.

“Free Hakim,” he wrote, seemingly suggesting that Ziyech is now liberated from the confines of the London club where he was relegated to the bench. It’s worth noting that Aubameyang also had an unfortunate ending to his stint at Chelsea, where he too was unwanted by the club.
