Saudi Arabia isn’t finished shopping at Liverpool, despite the arrivals of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. The Saudi giant Al Ittihad is now targeting Liverpool’s top scorer, Mohamed Salah.

The future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool is raising questions. Scorer against Bournemouth (3-1) at Anfield during the 2nd round of the Premier League, the Egyptian international (88 caps, 49 goals) finds himself at the center of increasingly persistent rumors coming from Saudi Arabia. Indeed, the club Al-Ittihad, where Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and his now former teammate Fabinho now play, is reportedly making intensive efforts to lure the Pharaoh into its ranks.

This is reported by the media outlet KingFut. According to this source, Mohamed Salah would have given his approval to Al-Ittihad to initiate discussions with Liverpool, thereby opening the door to a potential transfer. An opportunity that the Jeddah club could very well seize. According to Arriyadiyah, the Gulf team would be ready to make an offer of £60 million (about €70 million) to the Merseyside club for the dynamic winger and offer him a salary of £180 million (almost €210 million) spread over two seasons.

Another piece of good news for the Saudi Pro League contenders is that Liverpool’s top brass doesn’t seem to be opposed to selling the 31-year-old player, whose contract expires in June 2025. At least, that’s what the well-known Saudi journalist Waleed Al Farraj reveals. However, an obstacle may be in the way of the Saudi leaders: coach Jürgen Klopp. He might not be inclined to let go of his major offensive asset.

A Benzema-Salah Duo? Nevertheless, enthusiasm reigns at Al-Ittihad. Especially since the Portuguese winger Jota, recently arrived from Celtic Glasgow, could already be sacrificed to make way for Salah. This is already fueling dreams among fans who can soon see the birth of the Benzema-Salah duo.

“Mohamed Salah will be a player for Al-Ittihad, God willing. There’s a 75% chance that Salah will join Al-Ittihad. I’ve heard that Jota won’t stay on the team. Yes, the club spent 30 million euros on him, but it turns out he doesn’t meet expectations at the moment. The interests of Al-Ittihad come first. I’m delighted to have Karim Benzema as a striker, but he needs world-class attacking teammates by his side,” said Mohammed Noor, Al-Ittihad legend, in a recent interview. To be continued…
