The University of Lomé (UL) has distinguished itself with outstanding performances in the recent competition organized by the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES). The public higher education institution succeeded in promoting over 80 of its teachers to new ranks.

The 45th ordinary session of the Inter-African Advisory Committees (CCI) and the meeting of the General Advisory Committee (CCG) of CAMES, held in Lomé from Thursday, July 27th, to Friday, resulted in the announcement of this year’s competition results. More than 80 Togolese academics were promoted.

Among these distinguished teachers, Professors Komi Wolou and Kossivi Hounaké, who were already professors at the Faculty of Law, were elevated to the rank of full professors in their respective fields of Private Law and Public Law. This recognition is well-deserved for their notable contributions to research and teaching at the university.

In the field of Information and Communication Sciences, Napo Kondi Sonhaye was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor, a testament to his commitment to academic excellence and positive impact on students. In the discipline of Psychology, Kodjo Sosoe achieved the rank of Assistant Professor, a significant advancement in his academic career and a sign of his dedication to education and research in this crucial field.

Another inspiring example is Dr. Lieutenant-Colonel Yawo Apélété Agbobli, whose excellence was acknowledged by being appointed as an Assistant Professor. His commitment to training future healthcare professionals and his contributions to medical research were celebrated through this well-deserved promotion.
