In an effort to support and promote press freedom and media independence, the Technical Commission for the Management and Monitoring of State Aid to the Press in Togo unveiled on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the list of press organs eligible to benefit from state aid for the year 2022.
In a public statement released on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the HAAC (High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication) commission informs the directors of print or online press companies, commercial radio or television companies, and community radios that the list of press organs eligible for state aid for the year 2022 is now available after the evaluation of applications.
According to the statement, this list can be consulted at the HAAC headquarters in Lomé, as well as at the regional office in Kara. Furthermore, the list is also accessible online through the official HAAC website, allowing all concerned parties to easily access this crucial information.
The statement specifies that the period for any claims regarding this list has been set until Monday, August 7, 2023, at 5:30 PM, allowing media actors to assert their legitimate rights in case of disagreement or questions.
