Esther Uha, a famous television columnist and former Miss of the Gôh region in 2014, recently shared a part of her past that continues to haunt her. At the age of 18, she made a grave mistake that had a profound impact on her life: she underwent an abortion.
Esther Uha expressed the devastating consequences of the abortion on her life. This choice continues to torment her to this day. “My life has been marked by many upheavals! Between illnesses, unintended scandals, rejection, emotional turmoil, family troubles, and my encounter with God…, I can affirm with a smile that I accept this tumultuous past with love because it has shaped me and contributed to making me the person I am today,” she shared during a testimonial program.
Now 31 years old, Esther Uha, in addition to her career as a columnist, also aspires to start a family. “If I could erase something from my past, it would be that abortion I underwent at the age of 18, which left me very ill. Today, I live with only one ovary and one fallopian tube, which causes me immense suffering. I think that if I had kept that child, my life as a public personality could have accommodated it, even making me stronger and pushing me to fight harder. I regret betraying my God and my body on a religious level,” she confided about four months ago.
Esther Uha’s story is a powerful reminder of the decisions we make in our youth and the impact they can have on our future lives. Nevertheless, she shows courage in accepting her past and using her experiences to build a strong identity.
Esther wishes to share her story to encourage young girls to consider the consequences of their actions and make informed decisions. She hopes that her touching testimony can serve as a warning and a source of inspiration for those facing similar choices.
Through her testimony, Esther Uha thus demonstrates that beyond past mistakes, it is possible to rebuild and forgive oneself. Her strength and determination are a true life lesson for all of us.
