Ivorian singer A’Salfo has announced the release date of the official anthem of the 2023 AFCON, which will take place in 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire.
Côte d’Ivoire will host the AFCON 2023 in 2024. During this African football event, which will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in six stadiums and five cities of Côte d’Ivoire, namely Abidjan, Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, Korhogo, and San-Pedro, several Ivorian artists will perform on stage.
The composition of the official anthem has been entrusted to the zouglou group Magic System by the Organizing Committee of the AFCON (COCAN). The group members, namely A’Salfo, Goudé, Manadja, and Tino, are already in a studio in Paris composing the song titled “Akwaba.”
As Ivorians eagerly await, the release date has already been revealed by the lead vocalist of the Magic System group, A’Salfo, in an interview with “Investir au pays.” “Regarding the AFCON anthem, it’s a song that I’ve written, but it belongs to COCAN. The scheduled date for its release is October 12, 2023, at 6:00 PM. It will be a very beautiful anthem that everyone will resonate with,” he assured.
