The Moele-Bénin party has lost ground in the Mono department. The municipal coordinator of Comé and his followers have abandoned Jacques Ayadji’s party in favor of Professor Joseph Djogbénou’s Union Progressiste le Renouveau party.
The Union Progressiste le Renouveau party welcomed new members over the weekend. The membership ceremony took place on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Classico festival grounds in Comé. The new members are defectors from the Mouvement des Élites Engagées pour l’Émancipation du Bénin (MOELE-BENIN) party.
This includes the municipal coordinator of Comé and his supporters. They have abandoned Jacques Ayadji to pledge allegiance to the party represented by Joseph Djogbénou, the president of Union Progressiste le Renouveau. Urbain Amégbédji, the representative of President Joseph Djogbénou at the ceremony, welcomed the arrival of these new members.
“Our party is honored today to welcome new brave fighters ready to go to the front lines. It is a privilege for me to welcome you to our political family. President Joseph Djogbénou charges me to tell you that you have made the best choice by joining UP-Le Renouveau,” said Urbain Amégbédji.
He assured the new members of the significance of their commitment. Unity, discipline, and gathering are core values cherished by the party, he affirms, inviting them to adhere to the party’s governing principles.
“Furthermore, I would like to reassure you of our availability to work together with you for even greater victories, as we are a party of winners,” he emphasized. The ceremony was attended by several party officials.
