Present in New York, tennis legend Roger Federer revealed that Rafael Nadal is the toughest opponent he has faced throughout his career.
Roger Federer, a living legend in tennis, has engraved his name in golden letters in the history of the sport by winning no less than 20 Grand Slam titles. A remarkable career, filled with brilliant successes and memorable moments on courts all over the world. However, behind these glorious victories lie significant challenges and opponents who have sometimes caused him a lot of difficulties. When questioned by a young girl from the Cary Leeds Center (tennis academy) in New York, Federer admitted that Rafael Nadal is the opponent who has made him suffer the most on the courts.
The two tennis legends have crossed paths many times, engaging in memorable battles. Out of a total of 40 head-to-head matches, Nadal has had the upper hand with 24 victories compared to 16 for Federer. Nadal’s preferred surface, clay, has been the stage for some of the most epic duels between the two players. Out of the 40 encounters, 14 have taken place on this surface. One of the reasons Federer considers Nadal his toughest opponent lies in the Spaniard’s unique playing style as a left-hander.
After officially retiring in September 2022, Roger Federer has not chosen to distance himself from the world of tennis. On the contrary, he has decided to share his passion and expertise with future generations of players. Involved with different tennis enthusiast communities, Federer dedicates time to children eager to learn the intricacies of this demanding sport.
