Adel Amrouche, the head coach of Tanzania, has been handed an eight-match ban by CAF due to comments made regarding Morocco. Furthermore, the Tanzanian Football Federation has made the decision to relieve him of his duties as the national team’s coach.
The Tanzanian football team must now move forward without Adel Amrouche. Following the suspension of eight matches imposed by CAF for remarks criticizing the Moroccan influence on the organization, the coach of Tanzania was dismissed from his position. The Tanzanian Football Federation announced Amrouche’s termination through an official message published on their Facebook page on Friday. Hemed Morocco has been appointed to temporarily take charge of the national team.
“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended the national team coach (Taifa Stars), Adel Amrouche, for eight matches. The decision was made yesterday by the CAF Disciplinary Committee, following a complaint filed by the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) against coach Amrouche. The FRMF had lodged a complaint against the coach for his statements alleging that Morocco influences the organization of matches with referees within CAF. In a separate move, the Executive Committee of the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) has suspended coach Adel Amrouche. Following this decision, Hemed Morocco has been appointed as the interim head coach and will be assisted by Juma Mgunda,” read the statement.
