Jada Dia, a TikTok influencer featured on LIFE TV’s program “TikTok Cœur,” verbally attacked Mrs. Henriette Bédié, the wife of former Ivorian President Henri Konan Bédié. In response to this, the Ivorian private channel clarified the situation.
In a Snapchat post, the “influencer” expressed her condolences to the wife of the late President of PDCI-RDA while making inappropriate and disrespectful remarks. “My condolences, mom. When mom finishes mourning, we will give her a skin-whitening range with the 4-in-1 soap,” she stated, sparking widespread anger.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, the television channel released a statement recalling that the program “TikTok Cœur” is an entertainment show that highlights different web personalities invited to share their experiences on various social topics related to social media. “It is with consternation that, on the evening of Thursday, August 3, we saw a disrespectful and inappropriate post circulating on social media made by one of the invited contributors,” stated the Programming Department, highlighting that the individual in question is neither a presenter nor a columnist for LIFE TV, contrary to some comments circulating online.
The channel then emphasized its commitment to promoting principles such as respect and kindness, which, according to them, were violated by the influencer’s disrespectful post. As a result, LIFE TV decided to cancel the broadcast of the “TikTok Cœur” episode featuring this controversial guest.
Finally, the channel expressed its apologies to its audience and all individuals affected by this situation. Additionally, they also reaffirmed their commitment to broadcasting programs that are kind, respectful, and entertaining.
