The only goal of the match was scored by the French team in the second half at the 64th minute, ending the hopes of an entire nation. Despite this elimination, the players from CEG Sainte Rita can be very proud of their journey. They notably had an outstanding performance in the group stage.
Placed in Group C, under the guidance of coach Sévérin Danha, they secured three consecutive victories. They first thrashed Mexico with a score of 10-0 in their opening match of the competition, and then continued with wins against Morocco (2-1) and England (3-0) in the third match.
In total, CEG Sainte Rita scored 15 goals in the School Football World Cup, with only two goals conceded, one of which was against France, leading to their elimination from the tournament. Now, the young Cheetahs will return to their country, where the entire nation awaits them with pride.
