Ghanaian Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan has joined the Saudi Arabian women’s club Al Hilal for the 2023/24 season.
Cynthia Konlan will be competing in the 2023-2024 season in Saudi Arabia. The Ghanaian player has signed with Al Hilal from the Maltese club Swieqi United FC. This is a one-year loan deal, until the end of the season. The announcement was made by the Maltese club in a statement on their Facebook page.
“An exciting journey ahead! Senior women’s goalkeeper Konlan Cynthia embarks on a new adventure for the 23/24 season at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia,” wrote Swieqi United FC.
“Cynthia, who has been an integral part of our team for a year, holds a special place in our hearts and around the club. Her contribution was crucial in winning the title last season,” the statement adds.
“As Cynthia begins this exciting new chapter, we send her our best wishes and unwavering support. We are confident that she will continue to shine on the international stage. These are the opportunities we always wish for our players. Good luck, Cynthia,” concluded the Maltese club.
Cynthia Konlan is one of the key goalkeepers of the Ghanaian women’s national team. She has played a central role since Nora Hauptle’s appointment as coach of the Black Queens.
