Since hosting her fashion show “MOOD’E BY EK” every Saturday on NCI, Emmanuelle Keïta carefully scrutinizes the outfits of Ivorian public figures. Each time she critiques a celebrity’s attire, it triggers controversy on social media.
On Saturday, August 5, the Ivorian influencer sparked yet another controversy when discussing Ruth Gbagbi, the taekwondo champion. Emmanuelle Kéïta made an inappropriate comment about the athlete’s outfit in that episode. “When you want to dress like a man, give yourself a style that is appealing. What is this? What is this? When you want to be a guy, be an attractive guy. Come see me, I will make you over, but not as a woman because you have built muscles so that a dress won’t touch you. More muscles, even more muscles,” she asserted.
The African taekwondo champion did not appreciate these remarks. On her Facebook page, Ruth Gbagbi responded to the presenter during a media appearance. “Mrs. Emmanuelle Keita, a true champion, is never defined by her clothes, but by the strength of her mind and her victories. True greatness does not follow passing trends but lies in the values one embodies and shares with the youth in the hope of inspiring future generations. However, Ms. Keita, I gladly accept your proposal for a makeover, and I also invite you to share a special training session and muscle strengthening with me,” the athlete replied.
Regarding the invitation from the Ivorian taekwondo athlete, the host responded on her page on Monday, August 7, 2023. “Ahuuuu. Who’s going? What is all this? This girl wants to finish me,” EK posted.
