On August 18th, a 32-year-old Gabonese student named François Ndjelassili was killed with a knife in a Burger King restaurant after a fight with a Russian who insulted him.
According to Gabonactu, his attackers reportedly said, “Oh look! A black guy. Come here, n****r.” In response to this racist insult, the Gabonese student refused to accept it, which led to a fight. The racist Russian had prepared a knife stab to the armpit, which fatally wounded him.
“At the time of the incident, the victim, who was known for his passion for sports and sociability, was with friends in a Burger King fast-food restaurant on the night from Saturday to Sunday,” the newspaper specifies. The student, who had graduated from UrFU (Ural Federal University), was still alive when the paramedics arrived at the scene, but he did not survive his injuries, as reported by Libreville. A police investigation has been initiated to apprehend the perpetrators.
On Sunday, August 20th, Gabonese authorities demanded Moscow to reveal all the details of this homicide. “The high instructions of the President of the Republic have been given to the Gabonese Ambassador in Russia to take all necessary measures to shed light on this case and request the opening of a judicial investigation with the Russian authorities,” announced the Gabonese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
