This Saturday, Real Madrid will face Almeria in the second matchday of La Liga. On the eve of this match, the club’s coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed several topics in a press conference.
After their impressive victory against Athletic Bilbao (2-0) last weekend, Real Madrid will aim to continue their success in La Liga this Saturday. For the second round of the Spanish championship, the Merengues will visit Almeria, a match that is well within their reach. Ahead of the game, the White’s coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference.
He first discussed the level of the opponent. “We watched them play against Rayo. They are a well-organized team that didn’t deserve to lose. It will be an entertaining match because they want to play, they don’t sit back. We need to replicate the Bilbao game,” the Italian shared, as reported by Real France.
Ancelotti was then questioned about Vinicius Jr’s absence from the UEFA top 10 of the year. However, the Italian tactician chose to avoid the question. “For me, Vinicius is one of the best, if not the best, that’s the opinion of all Madridistas. For Vinicius, that’s enough. He’s motivated and he will show it. But nothing surprises me anymore,” he calmly stated.
Another important question is who will occupy the role of starting goalkeeper, with the arrival of Kepa to replace the seriously injured Thibaut Courtois. “Kepa is adapting very well. He has shown a lot of personality and quality, but tomorrow we will continue with Lunin,” Ancelotti initially mentioned before being asked about a possible rotation between the two Merengue goalkeepers this season. “I don’t know, because the truth is that Kepa is already at a very high level. He has a lot of international experience, unlike Lunin. We won’t make many rotations. It’s either one or the other,” the Italian assured.
