Following Real Madrid’s defeat against Juventus (1-3) on Thursday, the Spanish press has urged the Madrid management to sign Kylian Mbappé this summer.
Thursday marked the conclusion of Real Madrid’s American tour, but unfortunately, the team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Juventus. The Merengues’ pre-season series of matches has been rather mixed. After recording two impressive victories against AC Milan (3-2) and Manchester United (2-0), they struggled against FC Barcelona (3-0) and now against Juventus.
Beyond these defeats, it is the lack of efficiency in the attack that worries Madrid. In fact, the Spanish press has already found the solution to address this problem. Several Iberian media outlets have urged the Madrid management to sign Kylian Mbappé this summer, to fill the void left by Karim Benzema’s departure to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. “Mbappé is not a whim, it’s a necessity,” proclaims the biggest sports newspaper in Madrid, Marca. “Madrid would be wrong to rely solely on Vinicius when the best footballer on the planet is within their reach,” adds the newspaper. Real Madrid recently stated through the press that their transfer window was closed, thereby ruling out a move for Kylian Mbappé this summer. The club reportedly already has an agreement with the Bondy-born player for him to join the Spanish capital for free in the summer of 2024, at least according to PSG’s belief.
