The holy month of Ramadan, one of the five pillars of Islam, is drawing to a close, heralding the approach of Eid al-Fitr after 30 days of devotion and fasting. Here is the official date for the end of Ramadan in 2024.
On Monday, April 8th, Saudi Arabia has set the date for the first day of Eid al-Fitr. Following a call from the Saudi Supreme Court, several lunar crescent observation points signaling the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Shawwal month were set up across the kingdom. According to the Saudi channel Al Arabiya, the new lunar crescent could not be sighted, either with the naked eye or using other instruments, from any observation center in Saudi Arabia on Monday.
As a result, the Saudi Supreme Court decreed that the month of Ramadan in 2024 will have 30 days and that the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10th.
It’s important to note that the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan is marked by a significant religious celebration, Eid al-Fitr, during which families gather, dressed in their finest clothes, to organize feasts, and celebrate the conclusion of this month of fasting.
