After spending three months at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville due to a horse riding accident, PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been discharged this Friday.
During his interview with a few journalists present at the scene, the Parisian goalkeeper shared his initial impressions with the Spanish media. He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout this ordeal.
“I feel quite well, although the aneurysm is not completely under control yet. We still need a few months of tranquility, calmness, to continue recovering at home. Thank God, after so much time. They say the brain is smart and erases all these kinds of events. It was like a dream. I woke up at the hospital and, thanks to God, I’m out today. I feel very excited, very happy, and I’m thankful to God. I thank my wife, my family, everyone who has been there…”
“She spent 20 hours a day with me. I’m very grateful, and without her support, it wouldn’t have been possible. I wanted to especially thank you for the respect you’ve shown to my family, especially my wife, to the football world, Paris, and Seville, as well as to many of my teammates who played with me and sent me supportive messages,” the 29-year-old Spaniard confessed.
As a reminder, after suffering a traumatic brain injury from a horse riding accident on May 28th, the goalkeeper was urgently hospitalized and even remained in a coma for several days.
