Pushed towards the exit by PSG and excluded from the Japan tour, Kylian Mbappé is considering legal action against his club, according to information from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Yet another update in the Kylian Mbappé saga. Refusing to let their player leave on a free transfer in 2024 after he turned down a contract extension, PSG has placed the Bondy-born player on the transfer list and is doing everything possible to sell him this summer or get him to sign a new contract. Engaged in a standoff with Paris Saint-Germain, the 2018 World Cup champion is not willing to back down and is already contemplating legal actions against his club, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
As per the Italian media, the 24-year-old player’s camp is evaluating the possibility of taking legal action against PSG. If the player remains excluded from the team after the end of the transfer window, he could appeal to the league’s judicial committee to seek his reintegration, as per GdS.
The 24-year-old player has the option to take the case to the labor court to request the termination of his contract. This process could be lengthy and demanding, but according to Mattia Grassani, a lawyer specialized in sports law who collaborates with Serie A clubs and has spoken about this matter in AS, the player would have strong chances of winning.
“If the behaviors of harassment and discrimination are confirmed, the contract termination is possible. Mbappé can be released if the behaviors are not limited to not being called up for a league match and, on the contrary, represent a repeated situation of lack of consideration towards the player and isolation, for a very clear reason: his willingness not to renew. He could obtain the termination of the contract, significant financial compensation, and the freedom to sign with any other club,” he explains.
As a reminder, PSG has accepted an offer of 300 million euros from Al Hilal for Kylian Mbappé. The Saudi Arabian club has even made contact with the player’s entourage to try to finalize the deal. However, Relevo explains that KM7 would prefer to have a blank season on the bench rather than move to Saudi Arabia
