In an interview with the club’s website, Marco Asensio expressed his delight at scoring his first goal in the PSG jersey. The Spanish player also believes that his team is “growing stronger.”
In their final preseason match, PSG comfortably defeated South Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai 3-0 on Thursday. Returning from injury after several months, Neymar scored a brace to lead his team. The third goal for the Parisian team was scored by Marco Asensio. It was his first goal for the club, and he is pleased about it.
“I am very happy to score my first goal and for the victory. It was important to start the season with a win. I am very happy personally and for the team as well, as we are moving forward and growing stronger. We are building a team and we are already showing it,” he stated on the club’s official website, as reported by RMC Sport.
Marco Asensio also reflected on PSG’s preseason. “This tour, apart from the coach transmitting his ideas to us, also serves to bring together all the players and staff. There is a good atmosphere, and from there, we must build a team as we are doing, to compete in all the upcoming competitions and win,” he added.
PSG will officially start their season on August 12th, with a home match against Lorient for the first round of Ligue 1. Marco Asensio is expected to be part of the team for this fixture.
