Having played for Montpellier, Nice, and Nantes in recent seasons, Algerian international Andy Delort has often faced PSG. Invited to share his thoughts on the French club’s summer transfer window on RMC Radio, Delort expressed his satisfaction with the departures of Lionel Messi (36 years old) and Neymar (31 years old).
The current Umm Salal player states that the team was unbalanced with the two South American stars. “On the field or during the pre-match video sessions, it was clear that the front three didn’t defend much and it wasn’t the Paris of two or three years ago, which was more balanced,” he explained, as relayed by Footmercato, before discussing PSG’s summer recruitment.
“I find their recruitment this summer interesting. These are players with a different mindset than those who left. With Mbappé, who, as we’ve seen again, is a phenomenon. He responded once again in the best way, and I think he’s going to have a great season. PSG too,” he added.
As a reminder, after leaving PSG, Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in MLS. Since then, he has been thriving with the Florida franchise, with which he has already won a trophy. On the other hand, Neymar headed to Saudi Arabia, where he signed with Al Hilal. The Brazilian has not yet debuted with his new team, but his official first steps are expected next Friday against Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
