Following Chelsea’s victory over Luttons (3-0) in the Friday night opener, the third round of the English league carried on this Saturday. Tottenham played the early afternoon match against Bournemouth. The Spurs secured a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Afterward, the customary multiplex took place. Arsenal almost managed to overturn Fulham, coming back to 2-1 after conceding an early goal, but the Gunners were caught up in the end. Final score: 2-2. Meanwhile, Manchester United achieved a comeback against Nottingham Forest.
With a disastrous start to the match, the Red Devils quickly found themselves trailing by two goals. However, under Erik ten Hag’s leadership, they relied on goals from Eriksen (17th), Casemiro (52nd), and Bruno Fernandes (76th) to turn the tide and secure a victory (3-2).
In the other fixtures, Brentford and Crystal Palace played to a draw (1-1), while Wolverhampton came away with a win against Everton (1-0). Lastly, West Ham surprised Brighton with a 3-1 victory.
