On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Diabaté Daouda, representing the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration and the Diaspora, opened the Israel – Ivory Coast Economic Forum in the presence of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Amadou Coulibaly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Cohen Eli, and the Ambassador of Israel to Ivory Coast, Rony Yédidia.
Indeed, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ivory Coast (CCI-CI) organized a forum with the aim of “strengthening economic and trade ties, stimulating investment, promoting business partnerships, promoting the transfer of knowledge and technology in order to highlight the economic potential and business opportunities of Ivory Coast and Israel.”
The Forum took place over a day and featured various workshops on information technology and healthcare, renewable energies, and waste management. During his visit to Ivory Coast, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Mr. Eli, attended this business meeting.
“Your visit to our country, Mr. Minister, demonstrates the great interest you attach to the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between Israel and Ivory Coast. (…) This visit is also an expression of our common will to further consolidate and diversify our future relations,” said the representative of Minister Kandia Camara.
Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, praised the initiative of this forum that addresses topics such as the digital economy, ICT, and innovation. He also emphasized that the goal of the President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, is to focus on the development of the digital economy.
