This Wednesday evening, France Football unveiled the 30 nominees for the 2023 Women’s Ballon d’Or. Spain, the winner of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, has the highest representation.

Among the nominees are Patricia Guijarro (Spain, Barcelona), Aitana Bonmati (Spain, Barcelona), and Aitana Bonmati, who is the frontrunner to claim the title. Nigerian player Asisat Oshoala, who plays for FC Barcelona, is also included in the list.

It’s important to note that Alexia Putellas, the reigning champion, is not included in the 30-member list due to a lengthy injury that kept her out of action for a significant portion of the season. The winner will be announced on October 30th at the Ballon d’Or France Football ceremony in Paris, which honors the top football players from the previous season.
