Still active towards the end of the transfer window, PSG officially announced on Thursday evening the signing of Bradley Barcola from OL.
The Parisian club revealed the news through a statement on its website. “Bradley Barcola joins Paris Saint-Germain in a permanent transfer from Olympique Lyonnais. The French forward, who will wear the number 29 jersey, has signed a 5-year contract with the Rouge & Bleu, until 2028,” PSG informed.
According to Footmercato, this transfer cost Paris Saint-Germain 45 million euros plus an additional 5 million euros in bonuses. The 20-year-old French under-21 international is already feeling the pressure on his shoulders. But that doesn’t dampen his excitement about joining a prestigious club like PSG.
“I’m very happy! It’s a pride to join such a big club,” said Bradley Barcola. “It’s a club with a lot of ambition, playing in major competitions. I want to give my all,” Barcola stated in his new team’s press release.
Bradley Barcola is a young football player originally from Lyon. He began his career at AS Buers Villeurbanne in 2008 and joined Olympique Lyonnais in 2010 at the age of 8. He primarily plays as a forward or winger.
He made his debut for OL’s first team on November 4, 2021, in a match against Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League, where he even provided an assist. He scored his first professional goal on January 7, 2023, in a Coupe de France match against FC Metz.
During the 2022-2023 season, Bradley Barcola secured a spot as a starter for OL’s team, accumulating 5 goals and 9 assists in 26 Ligue 1 matches. His performances earned him a place in the France U21 team, with which he participated in the U21 Euro in Georgia and Romania, scoring 2 goals in 4 matches.
