After several years with the Spanish club Villarreal, Samuel Chukwueze takes a step forward in his career. The Nigerian forward leaves La Liga to join AC Milan in Italy. The Rossoneri officially announced the news on Thursday through a statement on their website.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce the signing of Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze from Villarreal CF. The Nigerian striker has committed to the Rossoneri until June 30, 2028,” the Italian club stated in its publication. According to Footmercato, the Super Eagle cost the Lombards around twenty million. The former Villarreal player will wear the number 7 jersey in his new team.
Samuel was born on May 22, 1999, in Umuahia, Nigeria. He began his football career in the youth sector of the Diamond Football Academy before joining Villarreal in 2017. His early performances with the club’s B team were promising, participating in 20 matches and scoring four goals. In September 2018, he was promoted to the senior team and since then, he has played 207 matches, scored 37 goals, and won a Europa League title.
In addition to his club successes, Samuel has also proudly represented Nigeria, earning 28 caps for the Nigerian national team and scoring four goals. His talent and dedication on the field have allowed him to make a remarkable impression both at the national and international levels.
