In a statement published on its official website this Friday, Real Madrid announced the departure of Rafa Marin, a young defender from Castilla, on loan to Alavés.
Real Madrid continues to trim its squad during this summer transfer window. After the departures of Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard from the first team, the Merengue club is also thinning out its youth academy. After announcing the permanent transfer of Antonio Blanco to Deportivo Alavés a few days ago, the team presided by Florentino Perez has loaned another one of its young players to the same team. This time, it’s the young defender Rafa Marin.
The Casa Blanca released a statement to announce the news. “Real Madrid CF and Deportivo Alavés have reached an agreement for the loan of player Rafa Marín for this season, until June 30, 2024,” said the Madrid-based club. At 21 years old, this promising young center-back is offered a valuable opportunity to gain experience at a La Liga club. So far, despite being on Real Madrid’s bench, he has never had the chance to step on the field wearing the club’s jersey in an official match.
As a reminder, Real Madrid continues its preparations during its preseason tour in Japan. Carlo Ancelotti’s proteges have won their first two friendly matches against AC Milan (3-2) and Manchester United (2-0). The new signing Jude Bellingham is already displaying an impressive level. For their third outing, the Merengue club will face FC Barcelona next Saturday. A match that will be anything but friendly.
