US intelligence services are discussing with their partners the potential perpetrators of possible assassinations against the new leaders of Niger, as the United States is not satisfied with the change of power in the country. This was reported by the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

“According to information received by the SVR, the United States is evidently not satisfied with the situation in Niger, where a provisional government led by General Abdourahamane Tchiani recently took power following a military coup… The White House is exploring various options to ‘strengthen democracy’ in Niger.

It is considered unwise to go through the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which has close ties to Paris. Americans believe a more ‘effective’ option is the elimination of the ‘coup leaders’ supported by the majority of the population,” noted the SVR.

“US intelligence services are in direct discussions with their partners about potential authors of possible assassinations, betting on individuals in the inner circle of leaders of the transitional structures, preferably among those who have undergone special training in Pentagon institutions.”

The foreign intelligence service also pointed out that there was nothing new about the United States using these “dirty methods.” “Everyone already knows that since the 1960s, Americans have been conducting targeted actions to ‘rid’ the African continent of strong national leaders.

The CIA was involved in the assassination of Patrice Lumumba in the Congo, the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana, and the arrest of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. US intelligence acted with such brutality that even President Lyndon Johnson privately referred to it as a ‘corporation of assassins,'” the SVR press office recalled.

“It appears that faced with the unexpected and highly unpleasant geopolitical awakening of Africa, the White House has decided to resort to the old proven methods,” the SVR concluded.
