On Sunday, August 27, 2023, Antoine Tozan, who was the local representative of the PDCI-RDA in Treichville, passed away.
Amidst an ongoing electoral campaign, a new tragedy has struck the party of the late president Henri Konan Bédié, who died on August 1, 2023, following an illness in his hometown of Daoukro. According to the news outlet 7Info, the party leader, who was participating in a rally for his party’s candidate, passed away in front of everyone during a campaign for the legislative elections in the municipality of Treichville.
Indeed, he had attended the gathering to support Aminata N’Diaye, who was the party’s candidate for the municipal elections in this district. While everything was proceeding as usual, he suddenly collapsed before being transferred to a health center, where he passed away. At the moment, the reasons for his death remain unknown.
During his speech, Antoine Tozan urged those present to vote for the PDCI candidate on September 2, 2023, the day of the election. As a reminder, Antoine Tozan is the fourth prominent figure of the PDCI to pass away in August 2023. Prior to him, the party and all of Ivory Coast had lost President Henri Konan Bédié, General Ouassénan Koné, and Stéphane Bra Konan.
