The Benin national team is actively preparing for the decisive match against Mozambique in the sixth round of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. The Cheetahs will face the Mambas on Saturday afternoon in Maputo. The team has already arrived in Mozambique and conducted the traditional pitch inspection on Friday.
During the press conference, coach Gernot Rohr discussed his team’s objective for the final match of Group L. He also addressed the injury concern regarding one of his players, Rodrigue Kossi. Kossi is dealing with a muscle strain and might miss the match against Mozambique. Rohr stated, “(…) There was a minor muscle strain for one of my players, Kossi. We will try to assess his condition during training,” as reported by Mega Sports.
Despite this concern, the team is determined to give their all and secure qualification for the tournament’s final phase. As a reminder, the Mozambique vs Benin match is scheduled for Saturday in Maputo, kicking off at 1 PM (GMT). A victory is crucial for the Cheetahs to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
