The information technology company Surf Shark has recently released the 2023 ranking of countries with the best digital quality of life. In Africa, South Africa ranks at the top of this list, followed by Morocco and Kenya.

The 2023 ranking of African countries with the best digital quality of life is now available. This study, which is based on various criteria such as the availability and quality of internet connectivity, infrastructure quality, and electronic security, provides a fascinating overview of the digital landscape in Africa.

Unsurprisingly, South Africa has emerged at the top of this ranking, leading the African continent in terms of digital quality of life. Globally, South Africa ranks commendably at 72nd place, demonstrating the strength of its digital infrastructure and online security environment. Morocco stands out in this ranking, securing the second position on the continent and the 75th place worldwide. Kenya follows closely in third place and is ranked 76th globally.

Mauritius occupies the fourth position, followed closely by Tunisia in the fifth place and Egypt in the sixth place. These countries stand out for their commitment to improving the digital quality of life for their citizens. Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, also secured a strong position in the top 10, ranking seventh on the continent and 62nd globally in terms of connectivity quality. The top 10 African countries in terms of digital quality of life also include Algeria in the eighth place and Ghana in the ninth place. Benin, often less mentioned in discussions about technology in Africa, deserves an honorable mention in this ranking by securing the tenth position in Africa.

Evaluation Criteria Surf Shark’s ranking was based on several criteria, including network accessibility, connectivity quality, electronic infrastructure, electronic security, online service reliability, and adaptability to artificial intelligence. These elements provided a comprehensive picture of the digital quality of life in each evaluated country.

Among the notable performances in this ranking, Angola stands out for its network accessibility (12th worldwide), Kenya is recognized for its excellent electronic infrastructure (68th worldwide), and Morocco’s leadership in electronic security (40th worldwide) is noteworthy. South Africa excels in online services and adaptability to artificial intelligence (61st worldwide).
