After her election as Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2023, the lovely Mylène Djihony will proudly represent Côte d’Ivoire at the Miss World competition in December in Srinagar, India. She made this announcement public through a Facebook post.
The 71st edition of the Miss World beauty pageant will take place on Friday, December 8, 2023, in Srinagar, India. This year, the beautiful Mylène Djihony, Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2023, has the important task of representing her country. She shared this exciting news through a Facebook post on the evening of Thursday, September 21, 2023. “I am pleased to announce that I will officially participate in the upcoming Miss World competition. I was touched by your enthusiasm at the idea of seeing me represent our country in this competition, and it reassured me because I knew I was not alone. This marks a beginning and the start of an exciting adventure that I approach with serenity because I have you, this wonderful nation that believed in me from the moment of my election and continues to support me every day,” she wrote.
She continued by adding, “The elephant (our emblem) is silent and gentle, but it commands respect throughout the forest. White (the color I wear) is pure, but it manages to eradicate all forms of darkness. This is to say that in the face of challenges, serenity and gentleness always prevail! I count on you and your prayers so that together, hand in hand, we can write this new chapter of our history, marked by orange, white, and green, proud representations of our country.
To conclude her message, she invited the Ivorian population to support her: “Thank you for carrying your friend, your sister, and your child that I am, through your encouragement and unwavering support!”
As a reminder, in March 2022, at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Porto Rico, Côte d’Ivoire was strongly represented at the 70th Miss World ceremony. During this beauty pageant, where the crown was won by Karolina Bielawska from Poland, Olivia Yacé, Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2021, stepped onto the podium to wear the sash of the second runner-up. She also proudly held the title of Miss World Africa.
