Injured during Manchester United’s hard-fought victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend, Raphaël Varane will at least miss the next outing of the Reds Devils. According to Sky Sports, the French defender could even be sidelined for around 6 weeks.
“Raphael Varane will be absent from the team when Manchester United faces Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday due to an injury. The French international was substituted at halftime during our 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday due to a complaint, which is expected to keep him out for a few weeks. Erik ten Hag could provide an update on the team’s situation during the pre-match press conference on Friday,” Manchester United explained in a statement released on their website this Wednesday.
While Manchester United has not communicated the exact duration of Varane’s unavailability, Sky Sports reports that the 30-year-old player could be sidelined for six weeks. It’s worth noting that Manchester United’s infirmary is already well-stocked at the beginning of this season, with players like Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, and others like Luke Shaw, all being injured. Faced with this injury crisis, the future of some departing players might need to be reconsidered. This includes the case of Harry Maguire, who was supposed to leave Manchester before the end of the summer transfer window.
