Erling Haaland expressed personal pride in having contributed to Manchester City’s historic successes during the 2022/23 season, following his recognition as the PFA Player of the Year.
Manchester City’s striker, Erling Haaland, won the PFA Player of the Year award on Tuesday after his brilliant debut season with the Cityzens. The Norwegian forward found the net 52 times in his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium, including 36 goals in just 35 league matches. He played a pivotal role in City’s historic treble triumph in the last season.
Upon receiving his Player of the Year trophy in England, Haaland showcased his pride in representing Manchester City. He stated, “Of course, it’s nice and it’s a big honor for me to win this. I have to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone involved for making this possible. Without them, it wouldn’t be possible, so a big thank you to them.” He continued, as per his club’s official website:
“It’s an honor to be a part of it and to contribute to writing this story as we did last year by winning the treble. I’m really proud and happy. We have to keep building on that to keep getting that quality this season as well.” Haaland was also included alongside four of his City teammates in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season.
