i: Former President of the National Assembly, Isaac Sidibé, and several of his former collaborators have been remanded in custody following an investigation into allegations of embezzlement of public funds, forgery and use of forged documents, as well as complicity.

On Wednesday, August 9, a series of arrests rocked the Malian political scene as former high-ranking officials of the National Assembly were apprehended and remanded in custody. Among the personalities arrested is Isaac Sidibé, who held the position of President of the National Assembly, as well as Modibo Sidibé, former Secretary General of the institution. Anfa Kalifa, Demba Traoré, and Mamoutou, also known as Bavieux Touré, who previously held key positions within the National Assembly, were also involved in these arrests.

The charges against them are serious and varied, ranging from embezzlement of public funds to forgery and use of forged documents, as well as allegations of complicity. According to information provided by the African Press Agency, these allegations are part of an in-depth investigation aimed at uncovering possible misappropriations and violations of the law within the National Assembly.
