Three former dancers are suing Lizzo, the American singer, for allegations of “harassment,” “discrimination,” and “assault,” according to court documents consulted by AFP on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

As per a statement from their law firm, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez have reported instances of “sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment, among other things.” The statement further mentions that Davis and Williams “were ultimately fired, while Ms. Rodriguez resigned in the face of this distressing behavior.”

The lawsuit against Lizzo and others was filed in Los Angeles, California. According to the complaint, the allegations involve relations with other individuals that the dancers claim they were coerced into by Lizzo during a performance in Amsterdam’s red-light district.

Shirlene Quigley, the director of the artist’s dancers, is accused of frequently making sexual remarks and attempting to impose her Christian beliefs, particularly regarding sex before marriage, despite objections. Additionally, the dancers claim a longstanding dispute over their wages.
