Wednesday, February 14, 2024, marks the beginning of Lent for the Christian faithful. On this occasion, Yasmine Ouégnin, the distinguished deputy of Cocody, shared her thoughts via her Facebook page, urging the Christian community to fully embrace forgiveness.
As the Christian Lent season begins on February 14, 2024, Yasmine Ouégnin addressed believers around the world. In her message, she encouraged the faithful to follow the path of Christ and to actively participate in His mission of faith and spiritual growth.
“Through prayer, fasting, and acts of charity, we strive to be attentive and to better discern the manifestation of God’s Will. A favorable time for spiritual elevation, this period will also offer real opportunities for reconciliation with God and with all the people whom we have hurt or who have wronged us, consciously or unconsciously,” stated Yasmine Ouégnin.
The parliamentarian also took the opportunity to invite Christians to ask for forgiveness and to grant it. “May this time of penitence strengthen our love for our neighbor,” she wished.
It should be noted that for the year 2024, the Christian Lent began on Wednesday, February 14 with Ash Wednesday and will conclude on the evening of Holy Saturday, March 30.
