The iconic song “Magic in the Air” performed by the Ivorian group Magic System continues to captivate the French audience. It has recently been awarded two prestigious accolades.
The group Magic System, composed of A’Salfo, Tino, Goudé, and Manadja, remains an emblematic figure of the Ivorian music scene. Since their beginnings with the hit “1er Gaou,” their popularity has only grown, leading them to win hearts through fiery concerts in Africa and Europe.
Their success was solidified with the catchy tune “Magic in the Air,” released in 2014, which has become a staple and was sung as a victory anthem by the supporters of the French football team during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The song, which draws inspiration from Khaled’s “C’est la vie” and was produced by RedOne, was recently honored in France, receiving significant distinctions that underscore their indelible impact on international music.
The great news was announced by the group’s lead vocalist, A’Salfo, in a post on his Facebook page. “The only thing missing from our collection was this, and thanks to God, we’ve got it! ‘Magic in the Air’ certified Diamond in France and Triple Diamond for international sales, certified by SNEP. We’re going to celebrate with all the fans after the African Cup of Nations (currently too focused).“, he wrote.
It should be noted that the group has several discographic productions to their credit. Some of these works, namely, “1er Gaou” (2002), “Bouger Bouger” (2005), and “C Chô, ça brûle” (2006), have even been certified Gold by the Syndicat National de l’Edition Phonographique (SNEP) in France. The ‘Magiciens de Gaou’ have also received numerous awards for the albums “Ki Dit Mié” (2007), “Toutè Kalé” (2011), “D’Abidjan à Paris” (2012), “Africainement vôtre” (2014). These four albums were respectively certified Gold, Platinum, and Gold.
