Ivorian rapper Oprah, who recently won the Best Female Rap Artist award at PRIMUD, is among the ten finalists from the African continent competing for the RFI Discovery Award 2023.

The young Ivorian female rapper, Oprah, winner of the Best Female Rap Artist category at the last PRIMUD edition, continues to make waves. She is now one of the ten finalists for the RFI Discovery Award 2023. To make Côte d’Ivoire proud by winning this prestigious award, Ivorians need to vote for her by Monday, December 11, 2023, which is the closing date for voting.

It is worth noting that the young rapper is competing against nine other candidates, namely Amadeus and Jozie from Senegal, Aynah from Madagascar, Espoir La Tigresse from Gabon, Jessy B from Congo, Kaya Bysinshii from Rwanda, Lil K HPB from Burundi, Niaka Sacko from Mali, and Queen Rima from Guinea. The president of the RFI Discovery Award 2023 jury is French-Guinean rapper Black M.

As a reminder, Ivory Coast already won the RFI Discovery Award in 2000 with Reggae artist Tiken Jah Fakoly. Since then, no Ivorian artist has emerged as the winner of this music competition that showcases African talents. But 23 years later, young Ivorian rapper Oprah bears the weight of bringing the RFI Discovery Award 2023 back to the shores of the Ebrié Lagoon.
