Renowned Congolese artist Fally Ipupa was warmly honored at a prestigious university in Ivory Coast. During a ceremony marked by recognition and respect for his contributions to the music world, one of the establishment’s amphitheaters now bears the name of the famous singer.

After performing at the Abidjan Laguna Show festival on the Henri Konan Bédié Bridge as part of the CAN 2023, last weekend, Fally Ipupa was honored at a private university in Abidjan. Indeed, the director of the Nord Sud Campus University Lamine Diabaté in Riviera-Bonoumin, located in the Cocody commune, paid tribute to him by naming one of the amphitheaters Fally Ipupa during its inauguration.

The announcement of this tribute was made by the director of the university, who expressed his admiration and appreciation for Fally Ipupa’s influence in the music industry, especially his impact on the Ivorian music scene. The event was made public through a Facebook post dated Monday, January 29, 2024, by the institution.

It is important to emphasize that Fally Ipupa has become only the second personality, after the late Prime Minister Hamed Bakayoko, to have the honor of having an amphitheater named after him at a private university.

It should also be noted that Ivory Coast holds a special place in the heart of the Congolese star, Fally Ipupa. Adored by his Ivorian fans, the one nicknamed Dicap la Merveille frequently visits the country to perform concerts. His popularity is such that beyond his stage presence, Fally Ipupa has acquired a luxurious residence in the capital, Abidjan, where he chooses to stay during his visits.
