On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, a massive brawl broke out between two groups of street children, known as “microbes,” in the Abobo district.
The altercation, involving the use of machetes, occurred at the Samaké crossroads. Witnesses report that it stems from a conflict between two rival factions vying for control of the region. To restore calm and tranquility to the Kandia Camara community, police forces, particularly from the Republican Security Company (CRS), were dispatched to the scene. Transportation was disrupted due to this altercation.
It should be noted that the Abobo district is considered a dangerous area in the economic capital of Ivory Coast.
