The mayor of Plateau, Jacques Ehouo, was visited by Charles Blé Goudé. In his municipality, the president of COJEP (Congress of Young Patriots) launched his operation for elections without injuries or deaths.
Following the announcement of the “Operation Zero Injuries, Zero Deaths,” Charles Blé Goudé went to the Plateau commune to meet Mayor Jacques Ehouo. “I have been here for almost eight months now. I have traveled throughout Ivory Coast. I had to come and pay my respects to a friend who is also the deputy mayor of Plateau. I came to greet him, to pay my respects. But at the same time, Plateau is the heart of Abidjan. I launched the ‘Operation Elections Zero Death, Zero Injury’,” declared the president of COJEP.
Continuing, the former secretary-general of FESCI (Ivorian Student Federation) also added, “You can see that right after the campaign I just launched at the COJEP headquarters, the first mayor I visit is the mayor of Plateau because we are at the heart of the administrative city (…) It’s not just about talking to the voters. For these elections to be secure and free from violence, we must also talk to the candidates.”
Furthermore, the two individuals discussed the municipal elections in Ivory Coast, particularly in Plateau. “We know that it was also difficult for Plateau in 2018. This year, we want to avoid all these violence, that’s why I came. And this won’t be my last visit. After speaking with the mayor, I will come to talk to the people who have an interest in Plateau so that these elections won’t be marred by violence. We do politics to give life, not to take lives,” informed the former Minister of Youth.
For his part, the mayor of Plateau expressed his joy about the visit of his “brother.” “We are delighted about the visit of the president of COJEP. It must be said that since his return eight months ago, unfortunately, we haven’t been able to see each other. Charles Blé Goudé is a ‘brother’,” admitted Jacques Ehouo.
